UNSEENMOCKINGJAY
He can’t tell how long he’s been out there and honestly, he’s not even
entirely sure he’s going in the right direction, but he has a good
enough hunch to give him confidence to keep going. He trusts
himself that he knows her well enough to proceed through the brush
of the forest and thankfully the trust he has in himself leads him to
the right place.Immediately, he knows what her purpose is and it doesn’t surprise
him at all. In many aspects, they’re very similar. Both people with a
strong enough moral code that will cause them to make brash
decisions simply to protect what they love the most. In this case, it’s
people. People who they’ve shared so many experiences with that
it’s humanly impossible to just let someone take them away so easily. He steps toward her, breath heavy and legs sore from trekking
through the harsh paths for so long.A laugh.
❛ Y’know… I’ve never been that great at following directions. You can
try to stop me all you want, but I’m just as stubborn as you are. I
think for both of our sakes, you should just let me help for once. ❜
He’s laughing? Maybe it’s the relief that he found her, not that he’d
had to look much for her. She shakes her head, she doesn’t want
him here. He could get hurt, or drag her behind, she couldn’t afford
to have either happen. With her hands on her hips & an eager look on
her face, she began to figure out what she could do to lose him. He
wasn’t going to leave, he was stubborn, much like her. A huff & she’s
turning on her heels & heading straight for the woods again. This time
she’s not running from him.
❝ I think for your sake, you should leave. This is dangerous, Alex. This
could get you killed… ❞

She moves cautiously through the woods, ready for anything thrown
her way. She doesn’t want to discuss it anymore, she’s made it clear
that he shouldn’t be here, that she should do this alone. The rustle in
the woods is what startles her, causes her to stop in her tracks &
raise her weapon. She can hear voices from the trees, whispers
in the night. She doesn’t have much time to think before she notices
they’re saviours. She reaches for Alex’s arm & drags him behind
some trees, praying they hadn’t spotted them. She could not get
caught now.
Andrea peers out from where she’s hidden, watching as they continue
to talk & pass them by slowly. She looks to Alex & for the first time,
fear can be seen within her eyes. She’s scared, she’s actually scared.
❝ What do we do? ❞
