It was strange being back. Especially  after  everything  she  had  gone
through at Woodbury. She was just glad to be home, to be behind four
walls with people that were like her family. To think she’d even thought
of leaving them behind. She considered herself lucky that she’d  made
it back to them in one piece.

Watching the bundle of joy that was Judith, she  entered  Lori’s  prison
cell, curious as to how she was feeling after  giving  birth.  She’d  been
lucky to survive. Andrea was grateful that she was still here,  still  okay.
Reaching out, she gently caressed Judith’s tiny head before turning to
the first lady & calmly smiling.

      ❝ She’s beautiful, Lori. She’s got Rick’s eyes. ❞

the  quiet  of  the  night,  the  lack  of  dirt  between her  fingernails felt a  bit  odd.
adjusting   to   this  new   community  had  become   more  of  a   challenge  than
expected.  they’d spent so much time  out there,  searching for a place like this.
now that  it  had  been  found  &  the two were drinking wine, it seemed too good
to be  true.  her head nodding slowly,  lori’s eyes peered out to the row of houses
laid out before them. this was the kind of place she had dreamed for her family,
but obtaining it under these circumstances was unsettling.

❝   never  thought  i’d be havin’  wine again or that my
baby would be sleepin’ in a crib with fresh diapers
or even clothes that fit her right. it’s strange, right?  ❞

staring out at the world past  their  walls  she  began  to  realise  how  truly
grateful she was for being allowed in alexandria. she sips her glass & grins
at the bitter taste on her tongue. as she sat there, she wondered how long
all of this would last for. being out there, behind  those  secure  walls,  she
knew eventually she would lose it all,  just  like  they  had  before.  nothing
ever lasted forever. still, she forced it to the back of  her  mind  &  focused
on what she had right now. a good bottle of wine,  a  good  friend  by  her
side & a sniper. she sips more, hoping to get a little bit tipsy tonight.

❝ we’re lucky. this is a good place for us, lori. for carl & judith. this is what
you wanted for them. this is what we wanted for everyone. ❞

usually, the watchtower would be quiet at night. tonight was different,  lori
had brought up a bottle of wine & the two woman  were  spending  a  girls
night together. normality – it was something they rarely got but when they
did, andrea made the most of it. with a glass of wine on her right & a gun
to the left of her, she began to enjoy her night.

❝ – – this is some pretty decent wine. ❞
